    -David Parson
    David Parson was born in Chicago, but was raised in Missouri. He created over 70 works for The Parsons Dance Company (created in 1987). One of him Many pieces of dance was called “Caught.” He is known to be “one of the great movers of modern dance.” In 2000 he received the 2000 Dance Magazine Award and the 2001 American Choreography award. Just last year in March, Parsons dance was featured on an Italian TV show called “Amichi.”

      Based in New York City, Parsons Dance was founded on July 17, 1985, by David Parsons. David Parsons founded Parsons Dance in 1987 with lighting designer Howell Binkley.  Since then, he has created more than 80 works for the company, using stuff from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, the American Dance Festival, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company.  His works have also been performed by BatSheva Dance Company of Israel, English National Ballet, Feld Ballets/NY, Hubbard Street Dance Company. One of his greatest works is “Caught” that can still be found on YouTube today.

From 1978-1987.Mr. Parsons was a leading dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, where Mr. Taylor created many roles for him in works such as Arden Court, Last Look and Roses. David Parsons work has been enthusiastically embraced by audiences, presenters and critics the world over. Mr. Parsons danced in the first White Oak company with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Momix, and the Berlin Opera. He danced with New York City Ballet 4 years as a guest artist. Nureyev performed Brothers for six years.
